This region is the birthplace of the oldest humanoid settlement on the planet. Erlah is situated between longitudes 0° and 85° East and latitudes 0° and 50° North, and it has vast deserts to the west and the Great Tundra to the north. The Great Narah is the largest island in Tharelia and dominates the West, while ranges with high mountains dominate the northwest of the continent. In terms of climate, temperatures range from +30°C in the south to -45°C in the tundras in the north, and the capital Erinah has temperatures ranging between 5°C and 18°C. Primitive humanoid communities formed 1 million years ago in the valleys of The Great Narah, and 10,000 years ago, Hemite groups crossed the Narah Channel and occupied the valleys of Erinah. The context The Constitution of Surnah allows local chiefs to have their armed forces, with limited firepower. But clandestine agreements with Blue governments allowed militias like The Flock to adapt nuclear batteries to heavy weaponry. In this way, the balance of power began to tip unofficially towards Surnah, whose government ignored the increase in military power of local lords. Nopah responded and suspended the sale of ammunition and aircraft to Surnah. In retaliation, The Flock and other rebel groups invaded Nopah territory. Erlah immediately bombarded civilian positions in the region of Surnarah, the capital of Surnah. Surnah's response was to organize a series of nuclear attacks on the capital Erinah, which decimated its civilian population. Deaths due to war The Tharelian War killed 62.51% of the Tharelian population or 5,252,694,730 inhabitants. It is the oldest Universe catalogued in the Hyperon Universes Database (HUD), with an estimated age of 4 trillion years. As a very old Universe, Lyra is losing its sub-atomic cohesion, and matter will cease to exist at some point in the next thousand years. It has 12,165 habitable planets, but only one, Lyra, has an advanced civilization. The planet orbits a double star with the same name. The stars share the same gaseous envelope, but thanks to the rapid rotation of the double system around its centre of mass, its gas is ejected into space creating a spiral with a maximum radius of more than 1 light year. The gas from the double system creates an effect called "silver rain": low-energy particles reach the planet's atmosphere, creating small discharges. These discharges in turn create electromagnetic fields that hold matter together and help slow the process of sub-atomic degeneration. Society The planet Lyra is ruled by the House of Khor, a 25,500-year-old lineage. Lyra society is based on Positivist ethics: Peace and Progress as tools for social stability. The Pacific is the largest ocean separating the Americas from Eurasia. Temperatures range from -70°C in Antarctica to +48°C in North Africa. The population of Blue is 4,079,480,606 people. Nature is well preserved and the number of forests has increased by 45% since the 1930s, thanks to the end of deforestation and the use of clean energy sources. History The first Blue civilisations date back to 6,000 years ago. Sumerians and Akkadians created empires in the Mesopotamia region of Western Asia. Other civilizations flourished on the Indian Subcontinent, the Far East and Egypt. Greek civilisation (2700 to 100 BC) left an extensive legacy in language, thought, philosophy, politics and art. The Roman Empire (600 BC to AD 600), the largest empire in Blue's history, created the foundations of today's Western Civilization. The 20th century saw major changes in the structure of Blue Society, thanks to developments in Science and Technology. The discovery of Controlled Nuclear Fusion by Israeli physicist Aharon Feldberg in 1932 created the so-called "Golden Age of the Atom". It began 60 years ago as a civil-military enterprise of vital importance to the future of Tharelian civilization. So far, the Project has consumed Th$50 trillion and brought important results in strategic and scientific areas. The beginning The Hyperon Project began 60 years ago at the Center for Theoretical Physics, an institute for advanced studies affiliated with the University of Yontah. The Project was motivated by growing concerns coming from Tharelian governments about the possibility of a large-scale global conflict, in addition to the process of degradation of the planet's climate and natural resources. The Project's main goal is the transfer of 1% to 10% of the Tharelian population to other Universes in the short and medium term. A solution involving transferring a vast population to another habitable planet in the Tharelian Universe was considered infeasible and discarded, as no planet in the habitable zone was found within a radius of 10,000 light years. After receiving carte blanche from the Nopah government, Professor Thar Teg thar organized a committee that convened the most prominent scientists and engineers from the following fields: Physics - Theoretical Physics - Nuclear Physics — Solid State Mathematics — Pure Mathematics — Topology Mathematics - Statistics Engineering - Electronics Computer Science Quantum Computing Military Strategy The Military Strategy Division selected the Tonopah region, West of Nopah, as the headquarters of the Project Headquarters.
