Erlah

Erlah

Erlah is one of the Three Tribes of Tharelia, with its capital located in the city of Erinah. This region is the birthplace of the oldest humanoid settlement on the planet. Erlah is situated between longitudes 0° and 85° East and latitudes 0° and 50° North, and it has vast deserts to the west and the Great Tundra to the north. The Great Narah is the largest island in Tharelia and dominates the West, while ranges with high mountains dominate the northwest of the continent. In terms of climate, temperatures range from +30°C in the south to -45°C in the tundras in the north, and the capital Erinah has temperatures ranging between 5°C and 18°C.

Primitive humanoid communities formed 1 million years ago in the valleys of The Great Narah, and 10,000 years ago, Hemite groups crossed the Narah Channel and occupied the valleys of Erinah. They created a settlement that developed and expanded for the next 5,000 years. The Erlah ethnicity is the original Hemitic, and the country's population is 1,569,447,350 inhabitants. There are also approximately 5,500,000 Ashkaris (Hemites of Nopah) and 3,240,000 Akhats (Hemites of Surnah).

Erlah follows an autocratic government model, and the President is elected by the High Ashtars of the Church. The presidential term is 7 years, and citizens over the age of 20 are eligible to vote for local representatives who serve a 5-year term. The culture and society of Erlah are heavily influenced by religion, with 92% of the population following the Orthodox Church. Male religious leaders are called Ashtars, and female leaders are called Ashtari. The centre of religious studies is always the Sedrah, where boys and girls from the age of 10 receive lessons on the Makhbath.

Erlah does not have an advanced industrial park and imports consumer goods from Nopah. Farms dedicated to livestock are common in the Eastern region of the country, and Northern communities depend on fishing in the cold waters of the North Sea. Energy is generated through power plants that burn oil and coal. The country exports 75% of the coal used in other regions of the planet.

Currently, Erlah is seen as a mediator in the constant conflicts between the governments of Nopah and Surnah. However, corruption in the Erlah Orthodox Church is endemic, with several Ashtars receiving bribes to vote for some presidential and communal candidates, in what has been referred to as "The Great Trikhal" scandal.
