Alice Morland

Alice Morland

Alice Morland Volkova (née Alice Morland) served as a First Sergeant Nurse in the Royal Queen Alexandra Army Nurse Corps (QARANC). She was born in Norfolk, East Anglia, England, to Charles Morland and Christina Hunt Morland. At the age of 24, she joined the QARANC and performed numerous rescue and humanitarian missions in remote areas of Central Asia. In recognition of her outstanding service, Morland was honoured for her tours of duty in Afghanistan during the 1980s and subsequently promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.

After she left the military, Alice Morland married Russian Air Force Colonel Nikolay Igorevich Volkov in 1986, and they had one daughter, Anzhelika Nikolayevna Volkova.
