Blue is a planet located in the Stable Type I Blue Universe, with coordinates 752.965.846. It's the third planet of the Blue Sun, with a mean radius of 6,371 km. The Blue year has 365.25 days.

The planet has 5 landmasses: The Americas, Eurasia, Africa, Oceania and the frozen land of Antarctica. The Pacific is the biggest ocean, separating Eurasia and North America. ​Temperatures vary from -70°C in Antarctica to +48°C in North Africa.

Blue human population is 4,079,480,606. Nature is well preserved and the number of forests increased by 45% since the 1930s, thanks to the end of devastation and utilization of clean energy resources.

HISTORY

The first Blue civilisations date back to 6,000 years ago. Sumerians and Akkadians created empires at the region of Mesopotamia, Western Asia. Other civilisations flourished at the Indian Subcontinent, East Asia and Egypt. Greek Civilisation (2,700 to 100 BC) left an extensive legacy on language, thought, philosophy, politics and art. The Roman Empire (600 BC to 600 AD), the biggest empire of Blue history, created the foundations of today's Western Civilisation.

The 20th Century saw enormous changes in the structure of the Blue society, thanks to developments in Science and Technology. The discovery of Controlled Nuclear Fusion in 1932 created the so-called "Golden Age of the Atom". Powerful local sources of energy put an end to national and regional conflicts. Independent industries could be created locally, and wealth finally became equally distributed.

Blue never experienced a large scale conflict as a global war, but ideological-oriented, local conflicts happened since 1922 with the creation of the Soviet Union (USSR). The situation of virtual tension was called "The Cold War". A bolshevik empire centred in Russia, the USSR expanded its influence to satellite countries from Mongolia to the Eastern regions of Germany. With the collapse of the USSR in 1990, Germany was unified and the national states under Soviet influence gained sovereignty again.

Developments in Atomic and Nuclear Physics led to the discovery of the Controlled Nuclear Fusion (CNF) in 1932 by the Jewish physicist Aharon Feldberg. CNF power plants were developed in the 1940s, and portable fusion batteries were created in the 1950s. A single personal battery AF-1 can provide energy for an entire house for more than a year.

Without energy limitations, transportation is now more safe and comfortable. British and Russian governments are studying the development of a new space program, deactivated since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War.

 

Scientists and engineers from the United States are developing miniaturized electronic components based on semiconductor technology. The new technology is expected to reduce the size of radio and television receivers to become portable. Complex computer machines, now occupying an entire room, could be reduced to the size of a small refrigerator. Accordingly to the engineers, the so-called "solid state" technology will be available in the next three decades.

CULTURE AND SOCIETY

Controlled Nuclear Fusion (CNF) technologies changed the shape of Blue society as well. With independent energy resources, nations could develop themselves without the need for international trading. So, there is no need for a global and artificially homogeneous culture that would prepare populations for globally-distributed goods and consumer products. Culture is more diverse from a global perspective and at the same time more homogeneous inside nations. The new economy based on CNF reduced conflicts and respected national identities.

CURRENT AFFAIRS

High-level officers and representatives from Britain and Russia were contacted at diplomatic level by a humanoid group called "Hyperons". They claim to be travellers coming from a Parallel Universe called "Tharelia" and proposed partnerships on the fields of Technology and Energy. At the same time, unofficial Tharelian groups are creating "beachheads" at strategical points. Tharelians carry advanced technology, like miniaturized computer machines and portable teleporters. Field agents have reported that Tharelian beachheads have advanced robots and mechs armed with powerful weapons.
